A short video explaining how 'live barriers' can be used by farmers in the Andes to protect find soil from being blown away in the strong winds.
These barriers consist of native grass, bushes and trees, which are adapted to grow well in the dry, windy conditions of the area.
This information may be useful for farmers and those working in agricultural development and research, including in farmer research networks.
This video was produced by AgroInsight in collaboration with farmers and researchers working in the Andes with support of the Collaborative Crop Research Programme of the McKnight Foundation. There are plenty more interesting videos in many languages on the website https://www.accessagriculture.org and we invite you to explore it.
This video is available in multiple languages, including Spanish, in the accessagriculture.org website
